Where opposites meet
The series of new work I have made are about polarisation and connection.
To me, glass is smooth and elegant. Stone is rough and raw. The way of shaping both materials reflect that as well. Molden glass, is warm, soft and quiet to shape in its form. For stone you need force, it’s cold and loud to shape.
The artworks are made of two separate pieces. They are the same in shape but one form is turned upside down, which is why the two parts fit together so well. What seems opposite at first is actually closely related.
Glass and stone stand for the differences we also see between people. We all have our own opinions, backgrounds, and ways of seeing the world. You may feel you belong on the smooth part of the artwork, while you think your neighbor belongs on the rough side. Sometimes these differences can make us feel far apart.
But there is always something we can meet in. When we stay open and connected, our differences do not have to divide us. Instead, they can support and balance each other.
Like the glass and stone, we can be opposites and still fit together. We can be different, and still be in balance, as long as we stay connected.

Let me show you the colors of the sea.
I have lived in three different places, all close to the sea. The sea has become a major source of inspiration for me. That connection flows clearly through this art series, which revolves around the beauty, stillness, and especially the shifting colors of the sea.
The contrast between rough stone and fragile glass fascinates me. They’re opposites, but at the same time, they share something, both are natural materials that bring a sense of calm. When combined, they create a unique kind of harmony.
