About me

Mirna is an artist and glassblower whose work combines glass with stone. She lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark, and grew up in the Netherlands.

Her work emerges from an intuitive process in which craftsmanship and experimentation go hand in hand. For Mirna, glass and stone are both materials and carriers of emotion: transparent, fragile, powerful, and raw. These combinations form an ongoing source of inspiration for her work. Her most recent series explores themes of polarisation and connection.

Artwork with symbolism

I created a special artwork for CafeKirken where my faith and my love for glass come together. At the heart of the piece is an anointing flask, surrounded by colorful glass shards that symbolize us as a church.

Glass Expressions: From Museum Maassluis to Copenhagen

Samuel and I were in the Netherlands for the opening of the glass art exhibition at Museum Maassluis. Eight artists from Glasz Art Professionals and four artists from Maassluis (including me) are showcasing their expressive glass pieces. I’m now back in Copenhagen, where I work at Studio Arhoj and Copenhagenglass.
